Maw-sit-sit Tiger's Eye, Ruby, 18Kt Gold & Jasper by Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio--"Survival"
A unique, masterful gemstone sculpture which appears to tell a story captured in a moment in time in stone: depicting a chameleon carved from vivid green, fine, jewelry-grade Maw-sit-sit from Myanmar, with a Maw-sit-sit butterfly atop his head, having an outstretched gold vermeil tongue as is the fly he covets. Raised on a branch carved of a single large specimen of tiger's eye quartz from South Africa, on a rectangular polished based of yellow jasper. Measuring 10 1/2 x 9 x 5in

Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio
Following a second-generation family tradition in the fabrication of objects d'art, Luis' studio specializes in the carving of ruby. The second hardest stone after diamond, few artists have managed to successfully work this mineral since it requires a very advanced technique for carving and polishing. His works are displayed in museums in the United States and Europe and are enjoyed by private collectors around the world.
