Three fine specimens of this rare reptile species prepared in their original matrix. Claudiosaurus, not a dinosaur but rather a reptile, is an extinct diapsid (a group characterized be the presence of two temporal openings in the skull, including the lizards, snakes, crocodiles, dinosaurs and pterosaurs.) A freshwater reptile, it is known from the Permian of Madagascar. About the same size as a modern marine iguana, Claudiosaurus possessed a long tail, large webbed feet and a small head. Largest specimen measures 25 ½in; Matrix measuring 33 x 20 ¾in
