A good late 19th century French engraved gorge cased porcelain panelled carriage clock

Drocourt no.9543, the dial signed for the retailers Shreve Crump & Low
The case with rippled handle over an oval bevelled glass inspection panel, the signed rectangular porcelain Arabic dial decorated in the centre with a mountain scene over a cartouche showing two women with dogs beside a castle, surrounded by a foliate gilt border on a bleu celeste background. The two side panels depicting classical maidens, one surrounded by flowers, the other surrounded by doves. The stamped two train movement with silvered lever platform escapement with bi-metallic compensated balance, striking the hours and half hours on a coiled blued-steel gong. Ticking and striking. Sold with a double ended winding key and an associated leather travelling case with modified handle. 18cms (7ins) high (3)
