A late 19th century French gorge case repeating carriage clock

The rippled handle over a repeat button and heavy bevelled glass panels on a moulded base, the white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with blued-steel 'Breguet style' hands, the signed and numbered movement with silvered lever platform escapement with compensated bi-metallic balance striking the hours and half hours on a blued coiled steel gong. Currently not ticking or striking. Sold with an associated, earlier gilt-tooled leather travelling case with side latches and a chamfered lid with central handle 16cms (6 inches) high (2)
