The arch topped case surmounted by a brass handle on a brass-bound pad over rectangular fish-scale sound frets on a plinth base and brass ogee feet, the signed 7.75 inch silvered Roman and Arabic dial with matching blued-steel hands and tapering date hand, with option for strike/silent above, the movement with five knopped pillars and twin wire fusees to the knife edge verge escapement rack striking on a bell, the numbered engraved backplate centred by a basket of flowers amid symmetrical foliate scrolls. Ticking and striking. Together with an associated winding key. 47cms (18 1/2ins) high (2)
