A good late 18th century ormolu mantel clock

The drum-case surmounted with a winged putto on a reeded column decorated with a pair of doves and flowers on a stepped plinth with boldly cast acanthus leaf moulding on squat-bun feet, the 4.5 inch signed white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with pierced gilt hands, the movement with signed backplate with flattened edges, with verge escapement and silk suspension and numbered countwheel with star crossings striking the hours and half hours on a bell. Sold with a silk suspension pendulum. 38cms (14 1/2ins) high (2)
