The case with ridged handle over a bevelled glass inspection panel and repeat button over four porcelain panels depicting riverside scenes with moored boats all set within a gilt and dark blue edged border, the highly elaborate Roman dial with blued-steel 'Breguet style' hands centred by a putto riding the waves on a sea creature, the numbered twin train movement with silvered lever platform escapement with compensated bimetallic balance, striking the hours and half hours on a blued-steel coiled gong mounted on a block stamped M.V. Ticking and striking. Sold with a leather travelling case with removable front panel and a brass double ended winding key. 16cms (6 inches) high (3)
