A late 19th century French carriage clock with three enamel panels

The case with moulded handle over an oval bevelled glass inspection panel, with two rectangular side panels depicting eighteenth century dressed figures of a man in blue on one side and a woman in pink on the other side, the rectangular Arabic dial with blued-steel spade hands centred by a basket of flowers and foliage, surrounded by a vista of countryside with a chateau and its grounds in the distance. The twin train movement with lever platform escapement with compensated balance striking the hours and half hours on a blued steel coiled gong mounted on a block. Ticking and striking. Sold with a brass double ended winding key. 18cms (7ins) high (2)
