A first quarter of the 19th century French ormolu mantel clock

The central plinth set with the attributes of The Arts and the bust of Homer being crowned with laurel leaves by a standing youth, over a stepped plinth base depicting artistic and studious pursuits, on raised feet. The 3.75 inch Arabic dial with blued-steel 'Breguet style' hands, the circular plated movement with silk suspension and outside countwheel strike on a bell. Sold with a silk suspension pendulum and an associated winding key. 48cms (18 1/2ins) high (3)
