ARISTIDE MAILLOL (1861-1944)

Etude pour le monument de Port-Vendres
signed with the artist's monogram and numbered '2/6' (on the back of the base) and inscribed with the foundry mark 'Alex Rudier Fondeur Paris.' (on the left of the base)
bronze with green-brown patina
26 x 36cm (10 1/4 x 14 3/16in).
Conceived in 1921, this bronze version cast by the Alexis Rudier Foundry in a numbered edition of 6 plus two artist's proofs.
