A Pair Of Turkish 18-Bore Flintlock Silver-Mounted Holster Pistols
Inscribed Wilson, London, Turkish Silver Marks And Tughra, Probably Reign Of Mahmud II (1808-1839)

With two-stage barrels (some pitting), breeches each engraved with a crescent amid stamped stars, inscribed 'London', and stamped with three rectangular trellised marks on the left side, plain tangs, rounded locks in the French manner, each inscribed 'Wilson' and with semi-rainproof pan and roller, figured full stocks each inlaid with brass wire foliate scrollwork highlighted with brass pins, and with pellets around each lock, parcel-gilt mounts cast and chased in low relief with martial trophies and foliage comprising side-plates, escutcheons, spurred pommels each with rounded cap, trigger-guards (one repaired), turned ramrod-pipes, and false ramrods en suite with the stocks (2)
