A Fine And Rare Cased 17-Bore Flintlock Over-And-Under Travelling Or Officer's Pistol With Attachable Shoulder-Stock

With browned twist octagonal sighted barrels (minor surface patination) signed in gold along the top flat and engraved with the address along the bottom flat, gold lines at the breeches and platinum-lined touch-holes, border engraved case-hardened tang decorated with symmetrical foliage, border engraved case-hardened flat locks each signed and decorated with foliage at the stepped rounded tail, and with a starburst behind the rainproof pan, foliate engraved 'French' cocks and steels each working on a blued external mainspring with link and roller, blued foliate engraved top jaws, finely figured chequered rounded butt with engraved steel mount for the figured take-down skeleton butt with blued sprung-lever catch and engraved locking catch, the top tang engraved 'Joseph Egg', border engraved blued steel mounts comprising butt-cap decorated with foliage, D-shaped trigger-guard en suite, blued triggers, tubular ramrod-clip, steel ramrod with characteristically chequered tip, and retaining nearly all its original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with some accessories including brass-mounted three-way powder-flask covered in red leather (some damage), the interior of the lid with maker's trade label, the exterior with flush-fitting brass carrying handle engraved with owner's name 'George Drummond' and centred on a circular vacant brass escutcheon
