19th Century, The Last With Canadian Silver Marks For Halifax, Maker's Mark Probably Of Julius Cornelius

The first each of tapering multi-stage form with raised mouldings and turned bell-shaped muzzle, touch-holes each fitted with a nipple (damaged, some bruising) for percussion caps, plain trunnions, and knob-shaped cascabels (one reduced) each with raised medial band: on later stepped wooden carriages of naval type; the second of similar form: on bronze field carriage with curved open trail (one side broken) and spoked wheels; the third with multi-stage barrel turned at the muzzle and cast with the date 'MDLXX' on the second reinforce, the first reinforce with indistinct coat-of-arms, separate foliate dolphin lifting handles, plain trunnions, and knob-shaped cascabel: on bronze field carriage with spoked wheels; the last with silver-plated barrel of multi-stage form, raised vent, and knob-shape cascabel: on its ebony field carriage with silver and silver-plated mounts including spoked wheels (trunnion caps missing) (5)
