A Fine Saxon Left-Hand Dagger
Circa 1610

With bright sharply tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section with central fuller over each side of the forte, blued iron hilt comprising strongly arched flat quillons with spatulate 'fish-tail' ends each with central flute between incised lines, large side-ring filled with a plate pierced with linked circles, compressed fig-shaped pommel of octagonal section with button finial, wooden grip bound with fine steel wire between slender Turk's heads, and retaining most of its original blueing
