A Dutch Cavalry Sword
Mid-17th Century

With broad double-edged blade incised with a running wolf mark in front of the shallow fuller on both sides at the forte, the latter struck with the Amsterdam mark on one side, each fuller retaining traces of incised marks between crosses, iron hilt comprising slender side-guard and knuckle-guard each with double central moulding and joined by a diagonal bar, downbent rear quillon with button terminal, figure-eight guard, the inner one with thumb-ring, and grip bound with twisted wire between Turk's heads
