The reference 8206 was manufactured up until 1952. The production number was exceptionally low and it is believed there were only up to 40 made each in yellow and rose gold, making this a very rare example of an early Rolex chronograph.
From the second half of the 19th Century, Charles Packer & Co were once one of the premier suppliers of jewellery in London. Based at 76-79 Regent St, they supplied items of luxury such as pearls, brooches, medals and, of course, watches up until the middle of the 20th Century. From at least the 1920s they are known to have been an official distributor for Rolex in London.
