A good pair of late 17th century Italian carved and polychrome wood figures of courtly gentlemen

each wearing a flowing curling wig and elaborate costume and posed with outstretched arms and one foot before the other, their tight jackets with frilled and puffed lower sleeves and lace jabots, their voluminous breeches with slashed and puffed waist bands, their feet shod in high-heeled court shoes, on floral carved and foliate spreading plinth bases, together with a pair of modern grey painted rectangular pedestals, the shoes originally with buckles, now lacking 115cm high approximately, the pedestals 94cm high, 50cm wide and 39cm deep (4)
