A lacquer single-case inro

Edo period (1615-1868), late 18th/mid-19th century
The body with stylised water lacquered in gold chinkinbori, decorated with a red-lacquer ebi (lobster) carved in high relief, its tail continuing on the reverse, the interior of roiro with kinji edges; unsigned. 8.2cm (3¼in) wide.
