A 12-bore hammer gun by J. Purdey, no. 1970
Converted from percussion by another, Jones patent rotary underlever, percussion fences, rebounding sidelocks, grip safety, best foliate-scrollwork, replacement stock (cracks at top left and both lower horns) with ebonised butt-plate, the damascus barrels (loose on the action, pitted) with game-rib engraved J. Purdey 314½ Oxford Street, London
