In 2007 F. P. Journe introduced to the horological world the Centigraphe Souverain. By arranging the chronograph system separate to the timekeeping function, the Centigraphe is able to measure from 10 minutes down to 1/100th of a second without draining the watch of power or affecting its accuracy. Another unique feature of the watch is its patented ergonomic chronograph activation system that functions via a rocker set in the band rather than the tradition chronograph buttons or pushers. This sleek design makes the motion of start, stop and resetting much more intelligible for the user.
As well as pushing boundaries in the horological world, the award winning Centigraphe also contributes to pushing those of medical research. Since its inception, F. P. Journe has donated 30% of all profits made on the Centigraphe to the Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle épinière (ICM) in Paris. The ICM is dedicated to researching treatments for brain and spinal cord diseases and is innovative in the way it joins patients, doctors and researchers together.
