A rare George III paktong and cast-iron fire grate
in the neo-classical taste, circa 1775
of serpentine fronted basket form, the plain rectangular back before a stiff leaf cast railed front flanked by pendant bell husk uprights with urn finials, the pierced frieze intersposed with oval patera within beaded borders, the outswept scrolling sides with corresponding pedestal urn finials and oval patera and circular rosettes, raised on projecting tapering stiff leaf cast column supports and square block feet,
