A Victorian silver large two-handled tray

by John Samuel Hunt, London 1854, also stamped 'Hunt & Roskell Late Storr & Mortimer'
Octofoil form with broad reed and ribbon border interspersed with leaf motifs on similar bracket feet, chased foliate centre around presentation inscription 'Presented to Joseph Ryan Esqre of Lloyds by The Royal Exchange, The London Alliance, The Indemnity and Marine Insurance Companies of London and also by the underwriters at Lloyds, for his zeal and ability in protecting their interests in the case of a claim for salvage made by the owners of the Dumbarton youth, against the ship Africa, and her cargo, on her late voyage to the Calabar river, July 1854', length handle to handle 68.5cm, weight 190oz.
