Steven Holtzman founded Maîtres du Temps in 2005. The brand aimed to gather horological masters in creation of masterpieces. Speake Marin, Roger Dubuis and Daniel Roth collaborated with Maîtres du Temps on Chapter One and Two.

Introduced in 2013, Andreas Strehler and Kari Voutilainen designed Maître du Temps Chapter 3, the first piece from the brand with more traditional case dimensions and design. This did not mean a compromise in the extraordinary complications the brand has become known for with Chapter 1 and 2; with the press of the button on the crown the apertures at 6 and 12 open to reveal a second time zone on the signature black ceramic rollers of the brand, with hand painted day and night indicator.

First time ever offered at auction, this exceptional timepiece possesses numerous factors that make it truly one of a kind and stand out from any previous Chapter 3. Firstly, this is the one and only Chapter 3 ever produced in this chestnut coloured liquid ceramic rollers with masterfully hand painted depictions of the moon and sun. The subsidiary dials are also crafted in matching colour with Clous de Paris pattern (a type of guilloché pattern - reminiscent of the cobbled roads of Paris).
Additionally, this timepiece is engraved with 1 of 1 on the push button signifying the uniqueness of the watch. Unseen before, both famous watch-markers, Kari Voutilainen and Andreas Strehler have signed the transparent case back, and by admiring the movement through the case back, one can easily notice "Pièce Unique" is elegantly engraved onto the bridge.
