Footnotes
欧米茄,「Seamaster- Railmaster」,為巴基斯坦空軍製作,罕有精鋼手動上弦腕錶,年份1964。附候補資料庫精萃。
The Omega Railmaster was released in 1957, designed for electrical engineers and scientists. During the time, there was a demand for anti-magnetic watches for those working with large magnetics and electric fields. Magnetic fields can damage the most delicate and crucial parts of a watch, the escapement and balance spring. This energy pulls on the balance spring to ruin the oscillating frequency and thereby corrupt the accuracy of the watch. The Omega Seamaster launched around the same period was designed for deep sea divers.
The present example is very rare and limited. It was commissioned by the Pakistani Air Force. Omega combined two iconic models, the Railmaster and Seamaster to meet the high specifications required for the Pakistani Ministry of Defense. The case and anti-magnetic movement are from the Railmaster collection, and the dial and caseback are from the Seamaster collection. Additionally, the case back is engraved "P.A.K." the acronym for the Pakistani Air Force, along with the movement number. This intriguing reference is limited to approximately 200 pieces. The present lot is well-preserved example, with its stainless steel case retaining engravings and hallmarks.
