A very rare and possibly unique silver box

by Ramsden & Roed, London 1932
Modelled as a John Tann safe, the lid opening when the company logo is pressed to reveal four separate compartments, the handle locking the lid shut, height 11.5cm, weight 23.5oz.

Footnotes

The Tann family safe company was established in London in 1795 by Edward Tann. The company was transferred to Edward's grandson in 1845, becoming John Tann Ltd. It became known as the one of the foremost manufacturers of safes, introducing their 'Fire-Proof' safes at the 1851 Great Exhibition.
