An Urbino maiolica istoriato dish, mid 16th century

Painted with a scene after Livy depicting Coriolanus greeting his mother Veturia, his wife and children before the walls of Rome, the reverse with yellow bands and inscribed in blue 'la pi[?]ita di coroliano verso /la matre veturia', 25.5cm diam. (restored)
