款識：畫畫傳佳訉，與君細意尋。關山千里夢，故國十年心。回首白雲合，閒看黃葉深。楓橋從別後，為我答清音。為小松世兄淮上之行，以此見寄，即請教正。時乾隆乙未（1775）冬，海鹽吳東發。

一別十年外，思君夢裡尋。山河仍作客，梅柳每關心。浮世人情險，貧交氣味深。重翻墨瀋處，苦為憶知音。奉寄小松大哥，聊當寸柬，詩與書俱不諶論工拙也。張棟。

拙詩奉送小松世兄先生淮上之行，兼呈宗伯阮芸臺夫子。
金石紛羅考據詳，淵涵不數趙歐陽。而今暫輟千秋業，且應蒼生四海望。交稱金石愧相儕（芸臺夫子並以金石交見許），今日雲泥判不才。謁次若蒙垂問及，方編經義詩鴻裁。（鄙撰〈九經字考〉，曾請芸臺夫子鑒定賜序，今繕寫未畢，不獲附呈。又畫〈楓橋送行圖〉，亦未設色，均俟另覓郵便寄呈矣。）世弟吳東發拜稿。

無計買田還食硯，纔歸又去話匆匆。故人憐我征塵滿，洗向僧廬止水中。溪山如此不得留，回瞻梅柳空悠悠。羨煞諸君發清興，不看桃花不出遊。夢華招集葛林園，余將理裝而出，朗齋、德園諸君，期來春始行，成此二絕。黃易自題。

註：吳東發，字侃叔，號芸父，又號耘廬，浙江海鹽人。少工詩文，亦擅書畫金石篆刻，有「大篆吳東發，小篆鄧石如」之譽。嘉慶元年（1796）貢生，嘗從錢大昕遊，為錢氏引為畏友。又受浙江撫臺阮元聘，參與編輯《經籍纂詁》。阮元《定香亭筆談》中載侃叔「博古能文」、「所言頗為前人所未發」。著作等身，有《石鼓文讀》、《鐘鼎款識文》等十數種。
本幅後紙另有曹庭棟、陳樽、高翔、余集、奚岡、張淮、陳鴻壽、霍繼昌、吳錫麟、何淩漢共十家跋。吳氏畫成於1775年，題跋署年最早為1784年，最晚為1834年，時間跨逾半世紀。畫心有「蔡氏碧玉壺珍藏畫印」，乃清中金石書畫收藏家、藏書家蔡鴻鑑 (1854–1881, 或1806–1876) 印。現藏華盛頓弗利爾博物館名件元龔開《中山出遊圖》即曾為蔡氏所藏。
