林文傑教授（b.1947），生於潮陽，長於香港。十六歲赴加拿大深造，醫學生物物理博士，二十四歲即任教哈佛。1982年與奧比斯眼科飛行醫院創辦人佩頓教授首次赴中國交流。1985年成立美國德州第一間生物科技公司，並於1988年上市。次年獲「美國高科技企業家大獎」和「美國總統勳章」。又獲邀為美國總統藝術人文委員會委員，是第一位獲此殊榮的亞裔。1999年成立「世界眼科組織」(WEO)，為窮人防盲治盲。

林氏早年隨周士心、趙少昂、楊善深等學習中國書畫，並於1980年偶然發明「折光畫」，用不同攝影液體在黑白相紙上顯現不同顏色與效果。1982至1983年曾與中港臺三地藝術家張大千、趙少昂、關山月合繪《梅蘭竹芝》圖。本輯得其舊藏六件作品，其中李可染、關山月的精心寫贈，頗能見證一段以藝會友的佳話。

款識：梅花香自苦寒來，不是爭春先獨開。借重羅公茅龍筆，神似墨痕沁香哉。乙丑（1985）歲冬並錄近作，奉文傑、張笠兄嫂賢伉儷粲政。漠陽關山月於珠江南岸隔山書舍作。
鈐印：漠陽、關山月印、山月畫梅
