A William III Britannia silver tazza

by John Bodington, London 1697
Circular form with gadroon border, engraved inscription 'Ad usus sacros Ecclesia Nun=Etonensis in agro Warnici hanc patinam deo Anna Trotman 1705.' centred with an engraved coat of arms, within scrolls, putto, fruit and floral garlands, diameter 21.7cm, weight 12.1oz.

Footnotes

John Bodington had his mark entered in 1697 on commencement of the Register.
In 1714 he became Beadle to the Goldsmiths' Company until his death in 1727.
