The compass-well with maker's mark stamped of an open hand, the upper outer face with stamped cardinal compass points, upper inner face with vertical pin gnomon dial and list of 24 European cities with their latitudes, lower inner face with string gnomon dial and pin gnomon dial for Babalonian hours, lower outer face with moon face dial and brass vulvelle, when closed 3 3/4 ins x 2 1/4 ins x 1/2 ins (9.5 x 5.8 x 1.2cm)
