This painting is accompanied by Warmun Traditional Arts documentation that reads in part: 'Texas Downs is the setting, and Queenie shows Winnaba Springs in black, nestling beneath the hills from which they rise. The big hills which form the "top country", occupy the mid-section, whilst at the bottom, is an area where no men are allowed, as this is where women's law ceremonies are conducted'.
