Commanded by Capt HH Rawson Kept by V Ch de Crespigny", beginning on 1 January 1879; bound with de Crespigny's logs of HMS Northampton, Dido, Lord Warden, and Agincourt, cruising in the Mediterranean, West Indies, and the Atlantic, with calls at Charleston, Bermuda, Halifax, Malta and elsewhere, and concluding on 20 October 1883; illustrated throughout with watercolour views, pen-and-ink maps, technical drawings, decorative title-pages (partly engraved) and the like, c. 400 pages in one volume, bookplate of Juha Nurminen, contemporary half morocco, rubbed, folio, 1879-83

HMS Minotaur, launched in 1863 was an armoured frigate and, with her class, the longest single-screw warship ever built, and until 1873 had served as flagship of the Channel Fleet; HMS Northampton a Nelson-class armoured cruiser launched in 1876 was flagship of the American and West Indies Station; HMS Dido, launched in 1869, was an Eclipse-class screw corvette; HMS Lord Warden, launched in 1865, was a wooden-hulled Lord Clyde class of armoured frigates; while HMS Agincourt, launched in 1865, was a Minotaur-class armoured frigate.
