the top with a pair of lidded wells flanking a concealed rising compartment activated by levers in the central frieze drawer, the compartment with a single door depicting Thesus slaying the Minotaur, which is released by rotating the column to its left, the sides of the compartment with further penwork panels, the rear of the top with a rising mirror panel above a penwork neo-classical, scrollwork decorated frieze incorporating three drawers, the lower part with a recessed cupboard enclosed by three doors, the outer pair with ormolu rosette escutcheons, the fluted column supports on an inverted breakfront plinth, the door to rising compartment bearing the indistinct signature J. G. Klinglov? 1824, 122cm wide, 80cm deep, 80cm high (48in wide, 31in deep, 31in high).
