An Italian 19th century carved walnut encrier

surmounted by a bearded satyr mask, the strapwork cartouche shaped body centred by three compartments, two with removable foliate lids, inscribed to the underside in red ink CHI.MISC and numbered 61 a, b and c, 53cm wide, 40cm long, (20 1/2in wide, 15 1/2in long).
