A pair of Dutch silver chestnut vases

by W C Beekhuis, Leeuwarden 1911
Ovoid fluted form with ram head handles, the pull-off covers with chased band of acanthus leaves and surmounted with leafy bud finial, the upper bodies applied with a band of ribbon tied husk swags on a matte ground flanked by beaded rims, terminating on a circular foot with acanthus rim, raised on a square base, height 40cm, weight 151oz.
