A pair of 18th century Dutch silver four-light candelabra

by Williem Pont, Amsterdam 1785
Spool shaped capitals with acanthus bands, the central light raised on vase-shaped knop applied with draping husk swags and issuing three leaf-embellished scroll arms, their corresponding lights with fixed drip pans, the detachable Corinthian column stem with husk drapery, raised on rectangular plinths and terminating in stepped square bases with acanthus leaf borders flanking applied husk swags, height 55.5cm, weight approx 140oz.
