A brass sextant English, late 19th century,

Numbered 2488 on the arc and reading from -5 to 150 degrees on the silvered scale. The index arm, with magnifying lens and glass diffuser, fitted with a vernier reading to 10 seconds. Fitted with three horizon and four sun shades. In a mahogany carrying case with a rack focused inverting scope, star scope and sight tubes, and three dark lenses. With a test certificate by Hughes and Son, London, dated July 1949. 6 1/2in (16.5cm) radius
