This view of the Rialto Bridge falls into a group of Venetian view paintings by a hand often given to Niccolò Guardi (Venice 1715-1785). For a discussion on Niccolò Guardi see D. The present painting is accompanied by letters from Antonio Morassi, Prof. Roberto Longhi and Prof. Giuseppe Fiocco confirming attributions to Francesco Guardi and dating the work between 1740-1745.
