Four various ivory and one walrus tusk netsuke

One by Hoichi, mid to late 19th century
The first in the form of a rounded rectangular pillow, carved in sunken relief with childrens' toys, signed Hoichi with kao, 3.2cm (1¼in); the second an oval manju carved with panels of figures in gardens and pavilions, unsigned, 3.8cm (1½in); the third of a seated skeleton holding an open fan, unsigned, 4.2cm (1 5/8in); the fourth a walrus tusk netsuke of the San Sukumi (Three Creeping Things) around a human skull, unsigned, 3.8cm (1½in); the fifth of a snake coiled on a human skull, unsigned, 3.5cm (1 3/8in).
