Four ivory netsuke

One by Kinryusai and one by Bishu, 20th century
The first of numerous tadpoles clustered together to form a compact composition, the ivory stained for effect, unsigned, 5.4cm (2 1/8in); the second of two cicada on a large leaf, one emerging from its pupa case, delicately carved in lightly stained ivory, unsigned, 3.8cm (1½in); the third of the twelve animals of the zodiac, dark stained, signed Kinryusai with seal, 4.2cm (1 5/8in); the fourth of a resting crane in unstained ivory, the eyes inlaid, signed Bishu, 4.8cm (1 7/8in).
