The first of a blind man standing on one foot and looking around with an agonised expression, the wood bearing a good patina, unsigned, 6cm (2 3/8in); the second of a priest standing erect, holding his broad hat and cane before him, signed Tomomasa, 5.7cm (2¼in); the third carved from umoregi, of a snake slithering over a rock, unsigned, 5.1cm (2in); the fourth of a performing monkey seated, wearing a coat and holding a shishi mask, its eyes inlaid, signed in a rectangular reserve Shinichi/Nobukazu to, 5.4cm (2 1/8in).
