Two kagamibuta netsuke

One by Ryoei, 19th century
Each bearing a stag antler bowl, the first reticulated around the sides with formal designs and pierced beneath with a formal design incorporating the seal signature Koku(sai), the iron plate cast in relief with a bird on a rice stook by a peony bush, unsigned, 4.5cm (1¾in); the second bowl carved in relief with a mass of various fallen leaves, the shibuichi plate carved and inlaid in iroe takazogan with an oni appearing from behind a thatched roof, details in gold and shakudo, signed Ryoei with kao, 4.5cm (1¾in).
