A builder's presentation half model of the America's Cup defender Puritan
attributed to George Lawley & Son, Boston; circa 1885

the hull built up in lifts, and painted with a green bottom, white topsides, and a gold cove stripe, dated on the back 1885. Fitted with a plaque on the deck which reads: Puritan/Designed by/Edward Burgess/1885. Along with a framed medallion depicting Puritan rounding a race mark; and a raised dish in plate with an image of Puritan under full sail engraved on the dish, signed on the bottom by James W. Tufts, Boston.
