An exhibition standard model of a 38-foot Hudson River ice boat
George R. Bullitt (American, 1924-2007)

modeled in 9/16 in. to 1 ft. scale, and built with a simple frame and cross bar supporting the runners, mast, crew tray, custom hardware and other details. The rigging giving a suggestion of the sail plan. Displayed on a bleached wood and glass case.
25-3/4 x 14-3/4 x 16-1/4 in. (65.4 x 37.4 x 41.2 cm.) cased.

Footnotes

From the plans in Rudder Magazine from H. Percy Ashley's article published in October 1903. This stern-steering ice boat had a sail area of 350 sq. ft. and raced in the Hudson Valley until the early 1900's.
