Two bakumatsu brass tsuba

Otsuki School, Meiji Period
The first of rectangular form, engraved and inlaid with a bird flying past a tree trunk hung with shimenawa, in coloured enamel with slight-inlaid gold details, the reverse similarly decorated with posts at the side of a rushing river, signed Oryusai Mitsuoki with kao, 7.6cm (3in); the second in the form of a bell, with a mask of otafuku, signed Ryusai Tsuki Mitsuoki, 7.6cm (3in).
