The mura-nashiji ground decorated in gold and iroe takamakie, one side with a sparrow perched on the snow-laden side of a stook, with a large, wind-blown flowering peony inlaid in mother-of-pearl and bud growing in front of the stalks of grain, the reverse with three other sparrows playfully in flight, the interior of nashiji, signed Koma Yasutada saku; with black lacquer ojime carved with circular indentations, unsigned. 8.9cm (3½in).
