An ivory netsuke of a baku

Kyoto, late 18th century
Seated, its body twisted to the right and its head turned back as it scratches its flank with one hind paw, the slightly-worn ivory bears a good patina and the eye pupils are inlaid, unsigned. 5.1cm (2in).
