A wood netsuke of a seated monkey

By Naito Toyomasa (1773-1856), Tanba, 19th century
Curled compactly in a ball, its hands over its ears, its eyes inlaid in pale amber with dark pupils, signed in a rounded rectangular reserve Toyomasa. 3.4cm (1 5/16in).
