An ivory netsuke of a shishi and cub

Attributed to Tomotada, Kyoto, late 18th century
The adult seated, her head turned to the left and her open mouth containing a loose ball as she protectively rests one forepaw on the cub at her feet, the slightly-worn ivory is of a good colour and the eye pupils are inlaid, signed in a rectangular reserve Tomotada. 5.2cm (2in).
