A pair of Meissen models of pug dogs, circa 1745-50
Modelled by J.J. Kaendler and possibly P. Reinicke, each naturalistically painted in shades of grey and black, wearing a yellow collar decorated with flowers and applied with gilt bells and a purple bow, and a puce collar with gilt ornament applied with gilt bells and a turquoise bow, respectively, the bases applied with leaves and flowers, 15.8cm and 15cm high, traces of crossed swords marks in blue (one bow chipped, minor losses) (2)
